11am CONFIRMATION & HOLY COMMUNIONA warm welcome to our   Confirmation Candidates and to The Rt Revd Dr Michael Ipgrave, Bishop of   Lichfield along with family and friends to our special service this morning. Please stay for refreshments after the service today. 1 Corinthians 12:12-31a and Luke 4:14-21.

6.30pm EVENING WORSHIP: Good evening and welcome to our service led by Matthew and he talks to us about 1 Corinthians 7:17-24 and Mark 1:21-38.

Please pick up a leaflet with further information  and if you would like to book our Parish Away Weekend at the Pioneer Centre near Cleobury Mortimer from the evening of Friday 17th May to the afternoon of Sunday 19th May 2019.

POPPY ART SCULPTURE:  The Shropshire Poppy Appeal and St Chad’s Church have been working with two local artists, Lyn Evans and Nik Burns along with  Martin Phillips of Heritage Schools to commemorate this special year. Over 80 Primary schools in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin  have helped to create this one-off sculpture which will stand as a lasting legacy to the 5,286 lives lost from Shropshire during the First World War. The sculpture is touring the County and currently beinging displayed at St John’s Church, Muxton for the next couple of weeks. Worth a look :0

WHAT CHRISTIANS BELIEVE: The New Year is a time for pondering and  reflecting on the past and wondering what the future may have in store for us. Christianity and other faiths often suggest that they can offer answers to these challenging questions – but do they and what do Christians actually believe in? Do you or know someone who wants to explore what Christians believe and what it means to be a Christian then this short 6 week course maybe for you/them, starting on Thursday 31st January at St John’s Church  Please pick up a leaflet in church.

TELFORD STREET PASTORS have a new training course coming up.  If you would like to come along to the first session to find out more, this will take place on Saturday 2nd Feb 9.30-3pm at Central Fire Station on Stafford Park,      Telford. Out next Messy Church takes place on Thursday 7th February here at St    Michael’s.  Our theme will be ‘Messy Church’s Got Talent’. To register your act speak to Ellie or ring her on 07830524321.

This years FILM FEST for our youth groups takes place on Saturday 16th      February 7pm – Sunday 17th 7am.  Please pick up a letter from church.

A FUNDRAISING CURRY NIGHT FOR CAP takes place on Saturday 23rd February 7pm at All Saints Church Parish Rooms in Wellington. Tickets are £10 per person (family concessions). Bring your own drinks.. Tickets available from Lesley

GOOD MORNING SUNDAY at St John’s. Breakfast from 8.15-9.15am, the Sunday papers, conversation, prayer and reflection. (Not on the 5th Sunday).

WORSHIP, LUNCH & MUSIC takes place on the First Thursday of each month and every week during Lent. We begin with a service of Communion at noon followed by lunch and a recital.

DO YOU LIKE WALKING FOR PLEASURE? We meet at St John’s every Wednesday at 10am for a gentle walk of around an hour.  All are welcome. More details from Jo Lefroy.

A MEN’S BREAKFAST takes place on the second Saturday of each month 8.30am at The Whitehouse Hotel in Muxton.  Please let David P, Matthew or Lesley know you are coming.

PRAYERS FOR CAP: We run a regular prayer time for the CAP Debt Centre, monthly 4.30pm on the 3rd Tuesday at St John’s in the Acorn Room.

You are invited to St Michael’s to POP IN FOR COFFEE on the third      Thursday of each month between 10am-12noon all very welcome.

FORGET ME NOT FILMS: Do you like watching old musicals while enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake?  If so, join us usually on the 4th Thursday of each month from 9.30am – 12noon.

PATHFINDERS: School Years R-Y6. Meets every Thursday at 5pm during term

time at St Michael’s. Tea served at 5.05pm.  Come and join the fun £2 per   session includes food. Email to help with catering.

BLAZE: A mid week 11’s-14’s group. It takes place between 6.30-7:30pm on Wednesdays at St Michael’s Church. Contact the office for further details.

SUB:ZERO – cafe style youth club for School years 7+ at St John’s 4-6pm on Friday’s during term time. Followed by Sub:Extra 6-8pm for years 10-13.

FUSION: (14 – 18 year olds) will meet weekly at St John’s.  The meeting time is Sunday evenings 7.15 – 8.30pm during term time. We meet for Bible study, prayer and discussion. Call 670033 for info.
