6.30pm EVENING PRAYER (CW): Our service this evening is led by Matthew and he talks to us about Genesis 28:10-end and Mark 1:21-28.
PASSION FOR LIFE: Please pray for our children’s activity days. Pray for James Tagg, Ellie Jones and the team who are leading on this area. Pray for them to have vision and ideas that will engage the children. Pray for plenty of people from our congregation to support the daily delivery of the sessions
DO YOU KNOW? Rich is seeking information from anyone who knows anything about the stone memorial topped by an angel, just outside the main entrance to church. If you have any information (particularly about relatives or interested parties), please speak to Rich.
WANTED clean old sheets, blankets, curtains or other large pieces of fabric (cream, beige, brown or blue fabric – no florals and pyjama cord for costumes for passion play as soon as possible. Please give to Lesley or Frances. Thank you.
CAP MONEY COURSE starts tomorrow evening. Spring clean your finances and get control of your money! This course is NOT just for people in un-manageable debt. Its for everyone. The course is free, confidential and personal circumstances are not discussed. Join the nearly 200 people who have benefitted from CAP Money courses run by St John’s Money Coaches. GOOD MORNING SUNDAY – a new way to start your Sunday continues next Sunday at St John’s. Breakfast from 8.15 am, the Sunday papers, conversation, prayer and reflection. On a busy Sunday, start the day with God and be fed and ready to go by 9:15! (Not on the 5th Sunday).
EVER THOUGHT OF GOING TO NEW WINE? Ever wondered what New Wine was all about? On Sunday 5th February, everyone who has ever been to – or who has ever thought of going to – New Wine is invited to a Bring and Share Lunch at St John’s. We will start straight after the main service at 12.30 pm. We would love regular New Winers to chat about their experiences informally as we eat together. Around 1pm, we will have a short presentation showing you what to expect from a week at New Wine and how to go about booking a place. This will be followed by a Question and Answer session finishing no later than 2.15 pm. Please let Jenny Cresswell , Jo Lefroy or the office know if you are coming. Hope to see you there!
SERVING IN THE POWER OF GOD: Led by John McGinley Regional Director for New Wine, Midlands Region. A day of ‘Biblical teaching on Spiritual Gifts’ & ‘Practical application of Spiritual Gifts’ takes place on Saturday 11th February 9.30-3.30pm at St James Church, Brownhills. Cost £5 per person. SHONTAL THEATRE GROUP presents ‘It’s only a few quid…’at The Telford Whitehouse Hotel, Watling Street, Wellington TF1 2NJ 2pm on Wednesday 15th February. Intended to be hard hitting and thought provoking drama about the hardship faced by a young mother who encounters the attentions of a loan shark. WORSHIP, LUNCH & MUSIC takes place on the First Thursday of each month except January. The first WLM of 2017 takes place on Thursday 2nd February beginning with a service of Communion at noon followed by lunch and a recital.
A MEN’S BREAKFAST takes place on the second Saturday of each month 8.30am at The Whitehouse Hotel in Muxton. Please let Simon T, Matthew or Lesley know you are coming.
PRAYERS FOR CAP: We continue to run a prayer time for the CAP Debt Centre on 3rd Tuesday of each month at St John’s 9am in the Acorn Room.
FORGET ME NOT FILMS: Do you like watching old musicals while enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake? If so, join us usually on the 4th Thursday of each month from 9.30am – 12noon.
BLAZE: A new mid week 11’s-14’s group. It takes place between 6-7:30pm on Wednesdays at Lilleshall memorial hall. Contact Thom for further details.
PATHFINDERS: School Years R-Y6. Meets every Thursday at 5pm during term time at St Michael’s. Kids activities including games, sports, craft and worship. Tea served at 5.05pm. SUB:ZERO – cafe style youth club for School years 7+ at St John’s 4-6pm on Friday’s during term time. A chance for young people to meet with friends, relax and have fun inc games like pool & table tennis, Xbox Kinect and a tuck shop followed by ABSOLUTE:ZERO approx 5.30pm…..A chance to ask questions about God and about being a Christian…
FUSION: (14 – 18 year olds) will meet weekly at the home of Thom Foster 3A Fieldhouse Drive, Muxton. The meeting time is Sunday evenings 7.15 – 8.30pm during term time. We meet for Bible study, prayer and discussion. Call 670760 for info.
