9.30am HOLY COMMUNION: Our service this morning is led by Jane and Heiko concludes our sermon series ’The Life of the Prophet – Elijah and  Elisha’ with ‘Elisha’s death and a Resurrection’.  2 Kings 13:10-11,14-25 and Matthew 27:45-51.

6.30pm NOW WORSHIP: Welcome to our monthly contemporary service this evening led by Kathy.

PRAYERS: It is with great sadness that one of our church members and service leaders, Gillian Hornby, has passed away.  Gillian was a member of our church for many many years. Our love and prayers go to her family and many friends.  She will be sadly missed.

WORSHIP, LUNCH & MUSIC takes place this Thursday (6th) at Noon.  We begin with a service of Communion at noon followed by lunch and a recital. All welcome.

RIDE AND STRIDE takes place on Saturday 8th September.  If you would like further information or to take part there maybe an opportunity to join a group leaving from the Muxton area (possibly St John’s at 9.45/10am ish) please see the poster in church or speak to Lesley or Ken Trumper for further details.

100 DAYS OF PEACE + HOPE.  November 11th 2018 sees the hundredth     anniversary of the end of the First World War.  For 100 days leading up to this date (from 4th August) the national ‘Remembrance 100’ campaign encourages people across our nation to pray for peace.  100 churches across Telford will each lead prayer on one of these days.  St Michael’s will be open on Sunday 9th September 9am – 8pm (except during church services) if you wish to come.

SERVICE LEADING TEAM are due to meet on Monday 10th September 7.30pm at The Vicarage.

SUB:ZERO Youth Café is 10 Years old: To members and leaders old and new.  We would like to invite you to join us in celebrating sub:Zero’s 10th anniversary on Friday 14th September at 4pm.

ST MICHAEL’S PCC meets next on Monday 17th September 7.30pm in church.

WANTED PLEASE: Donations of unwanted clean clothes for a CAP client event (all shapes and sizes, ages and genders). Please bring your collection to Dawley Baptist church on Wednesday 3rd October between 2 & 4pm or to St John’s on 30th September. A CONCERT BY ST MICHAEL’S CHOIR takes place on Sunday 7th October at 3.30pm.  Programme including Danny Boy, Can you feel the love tonight, I have a dream, food Glorious Food and much more.  Admission is free.

FREE TO BE – AN EVENT FOR CHRISTIAN WOMEN takes place on     Tuesday 9th October 7.30pm at Swan Bank Church, Stoke-on-Trent ST6 2AA.  Tickets are £4 available from 029 2081 0800 or cff.org.uk/freetobe.  See poster for details.

“We All Have A Story” – A day for Men organised by New Wine.  Saturday 13th October 9.15am – 4pm at Liverpool Cathedral.  Speakers include Carl Beech, Steve Legg, Bill Bygroves, Phil Emmerson and Jennifer Rees Larcombe.  A group of us are intending to go. DOGS WITHOUT COLLARS are at Dawley Town Hall on Friday 19th October 7.30pm. They are a band of five (real) vicars who got together in 2005 to enjoy playing rock music. Over the next decade, they performed over 70 concerts in the south of England, raising over £50,000 for churches and charities with positive reviews and mentions in various local and national media. Nowadays they play a couple of concerts a year … and in October they will be visiting Telford (the home of guitarist Tim Storey). A mixture of sit’n’listen and up’n’boogie, their sets are a collection of favourites from the 50s to the 90s (which often matches their audience). Every penny of ticket sales will go to the Great Dawley Breakfast Club so that kids in the area can have a good start to the day. GOOD MORNING SUNDAY at St John’s. Breakfast from 8.15-9.15am, the Sunday papers, conversation, prayer and reflection. (Not on the 5th Sunday).

WORSHIP, LUNCH & MUSIC takes place on the First Thursday of each month and every week during Lent. We begin with a service of Communion at noon followed by lunch and a recital.

DO YOU LIKE WALKING FOR PLEASURE? We meet at St John’s every Wednesday at 10am for a gentle walk of around an hour.  All are welcome. More details from Jo Lefroy.

A MEN’S BREAKFAST takes place on the second Saturday of each month 8.30am at The Whitehouse Hotel in Muxton.  Please let David P, Matthew or Lesley know you are coming.

PRAYERS FOR CAP: We run a regular prayer time for the CAP Debt Centre, monthly 4.30pm on the 3rd Tuesday at St John’s in the Acorn Room.

You are invited to St Michael’s to POP IN FOR COFFEE on the third      Thursday of each month between 10am-12noon all very welcome.

FORGET ME NOT FILMS: Do you like watching old musicals while enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake?  If so, join us usually on the 4th Thursday of each month from 9.30am – 12noon.

PATHFINDERS: School Years R-Y6. Meets every Thursday at 5pm during term

time at St Michael’s. Tea served at 5.05pm.  Come and join the fun £2 per   session includes food. Email to help with catering.

BLAZE: A mid week 11’s-14’s group. It takes place between 6.30-7:30pm on Wednesdays at St Michael’s Church. Contact the office for further details.

SUB:ZERO – cafe style youth club for School years 7+ at St John’s 4-6pm on Friday’s during term time.

FUSION: (14 – 18 year olds) will meet weekly at St John’s.  The meeting time is Sunday evenings 7.15 – 8.30pm during term time. We meet for Bible study, prayer and discussion. Call 670033 for info.
