Your Child’s Baptism/Thanksgiving

This page is shared by Muxton and Lilleshall., so if you have arrived here from the St John’s site, you are in the right place!

For Babies and Children:

We’re delighted you’re thinking of baptism, christening or thanksgiving for your child. Your child is precious to you and precious to God. At a baptism/christening you promise to raise your child to know God loves them, and to help them to follow Jesus as a member of the Church. At a thanksgiving you give thanks to God for your baby.

If you are resident in Muxton or Lilleshall (map of Muxton parish, map of Lilleshall parish), or you have a strong link with one of the churches, you are welcome to have a thanksgiving or have your child baptised/christened in either church.

Contact us using our contact form, and a member of our Baptism/Thanksgiving Team will arrange to meet you and talk over the options you have.

We meet with you on two separate evenings before the baptism which most people find informative and enjoyable. It gives you space to think and enables the service to be more meaningful. We also ask that you to come to church on a few occasions before booking a date.

For You:

In recent years baptism is on the increase for children, young people and adults. You are never too old to be baptised. The important thing is that it has to be a personal decision to join a Christian community, receiving the blessings of God’s love, presence and strength alongside the responsibility of living a Christian life as an ambassador of Jesus throughout our lives. If you are interested in being baptised/christened, please contact us using our contact form.
